In the good old days, buying was simple.
get the right product at the right price

 

As the retail and business world moved on, stock control became more important
get the right product at the right price in the right quantity

 

Then, stockturn became important
get the right product, at the right price, in the right quantity, at the right time

 

Now, it is even more complicated...
get the right product, at the right price, in the right quantity, at the right time, to the right standards and approvals, in the right packaging, with the right returns agreement and proper customer support, from the right country ...

 

The list is almost never ending and can be a minefield for anyone without knowledge and experience.

 

I have worked in several UK national retailers as a buyer and been on the other side of the fence, as a seller, so undstand all of the elements involved in buying for a small, growing business or a billion dollar group!
